Operating theatre assistant (m/f/d)

What you bring with you

  • Intermediate educational qualification or Secondary school leaving certificate with at least one year of completed vocational training in nursing care or a comparable vocational qualification
  • health suitability
  • Proof of good German language skills with a recognised educational qualification obtained abroad (B2 language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • Internships in the operational area

Your tasks

Support: You accompany patients before, during and after an operation.

Organisation: You coordinate the work processes surrounding operations or invasive therapeutic procedures.

Preparation and follow-up: Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly before, during and after an operation. You will prepare the operating theatre, lay out sterile instruments and ensure that all hygiene rules are observed. After the operation, you will clean and check the instruments and ensure that everything is ready for use again.

DocumentationYou document your activities for quality assurance.

AssistanceYou will assist directly during an operation, work together with surgeons and support the team around the operating table. During the operation, you will hand the surgeons the necessary instruments and keep an eye on the procedure.

Teamwork: As an OTA, you work together with many different professional groups to provide patients with the best possible care.

Procedure & time of the training

  • Start of training: 01 September
  • Duration of training: 3 years
  • Theoretical training: Institute for Training and Further Education (IAFW) in Regensburg
  • Practical training: with us at the Arberland clinics

Working hours, holidays & remuneration

  • Weekly working time: 38.5 hours
  • Annual leave: 30 days
  • Remuneration: according to the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector (TVAöD) with all benefits, i.e. gross: 1st year of training: € 1414.69, 2nd year of training: € 1477.07, 3rd year of training: € 1578.38
